Hi there! Welcome to Yeji’s Kitchen Stories
I’m Christine, the home chef, writer, and photographer behind Yeji’s Kitchen Stories.
Yeji is my Korean name and what my friends call me.
I’m Korean-American from North Carolina, born and fed. When I’m not creating recipes, you can find me cafe hopping for a good cup of coffee, hunting for the best eats in town, and living my best life with my little family ♥

As a baker by trade, I spend most of my time experimenting and creating recipes inspired by childhood flavors, comfort foods, and a desire to create something delicious. On this blog, you’ll find tried and true recipes for baked goods, desserts, and Asian-inspired dishes.
When it all started
My interest in cooking and baking started ever since I was a little girl. My mom is an amazing cook and I grew up watching and learning over her shoulder. One of my fondest memories is when our family would host holidays. My mom makes the BEST japchae (Korean Glass Noodle Stir-Fry), which was always a staple dish in our family. The best part is getting to wait around the kitchen to have the first taste test before it got set on the dining table. When I was in high school, my immigrant parents opened a Korean taco truck. My mom spent 9 months creating recipes for the food truck. Our best-seller was the spicy pork tacos. Hopefully, I can get her to give me her recipe for this blog one day! We were even featured here on an issue of Southern Living Magazine before!
Being the oldest child of first-generation Korean parents, I was obliged to be very hands-on in the family business. I started working on our family food truck as a freshman in high school and that is when I truly became passionate about food. Although we don’t have the food truck anymore, I realized I wanted to keep working in the food industry. So I decided to go to culinary school and graduated in Culinary & Pastry Arts in 2018.

I love creating, photographing, and styling food. I fall asleep and wake up thinking about new recipe creations or flavor combinations. I’ve found something that makes me excited to wake up every morning, what more can I ask for?
I hope you stay a while + find something you like 🙂
