by Yejiskitchenstories

Creamy burrata with crisp apple slices, crispy prosciutto, fresh basil, a drizzle of honey, and olive oil, over garlicky crostini, is incredibly delicious and the perfect sweet and savory appetizer or snack!

If you’re looking for a simple but really delicious appetizer, I GOT YOU! — this apple and burrata appetizer is made with crispy prosciutto, fresh basil, a drizzle of olive oil and honey, paired with garlicky crostini.

It’s the perfect appetizer to make for brunch or for entertaining guests!

What you’ll need to make this Apple & Burrata appetizer:

  • Burrata: we’re using delicious and creamy burrata because it pairs really well with apple, prosciutto, and basil flavors.
  • Apple: I like to use Honeycrisp or fuji apples, they’re super sweet and crunchy!
  • French baguette: this will be the base for crostini to hold all the yummy toppings.
  • Basil: for a bit of freshness to the crostini and great flavor too.
  • Prosciutto: I love the savory and salty flavor this adds to the dish! It pairs well with burrata and apples, but bacon or salami will also work.

How to make this Apple & Burrata appetizer:

This recipe is super simple and comes together in less than 15 minutes. It takes little to no cooking, you just need to toast the bread and prosciutto. It’s become one of my favorite snacks to make!

  1. Prep the bread. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your bread slices on top. Brush a bit of olive oil on each slice of bread and toast for 5-7 minutes. Gently rub a garlic clove over the oil-brushed toasted slices of bread.
  2. Slice it up. Cut your apples into thin slices and finely cut the basil leaves.
  3. Assemble on a plate. Lay the apple slices on the bottom of a plate. Add the burrata cheese on top of the apple slices. Sprinkle the finely cut basil on top of the burrata.
  4. Drizzle & Serve. Drizzle olive oil and honey over the apples & burrata and serve!
