Cranberry Limoncello Spritz

by Yejiskitchenstories

This cranberry limoncello spritz is the easiest holiday cocktail ever. It only takes 3 ingredients to make and is perfect for before or after your holiday meal!

I recently got back from Italy and noticed that they would give you a shot of limoncello after heavy meals. It was so light and fresh, the perfect way to end the meal.

So, I was inspired to make a festive cocktail with limoncello to entertain guests for the holidays! This cocktail is light, fruity, slightly sweet, and so festive! I am a sucker for easy-to-drink cocktails like this, I hope you like them as much as I do!

What you’ll need:

  • Limoncello: this Italian lemon liqueur adds the perfect touch of freshness to the cocktail.
  • Cranberry juice: 100% cranberry juice is best for this recipe.
  • Prosecco: this adds a sparkling, fizzy touch to the cocktail, but feel free to substitute prosecco for Brut if you prefer a less sweet drink.
  • Optional garnishes: cranberries and a sprig of rosemary!

Can I make a mocktail version?

Yes! Limoncello can be substituted with lemonade. Prosecco can be substituted with sparkling water or even cream soda, like this Cran-Cherry Vodka Spritzer.

How to make Cranberry Limoncello Spritz:

  1. Make your citrus-rubbed sugar rim. Combine sugar with the zest of 1 lemon and 1 orange. Use your fingers to mix, allowing the citrus zest to release its fragrant oils. Set this aside.
  2. Rub a wedge of lemon/orange along the rim of the cocktail glass and dip the rim in the sugar.
  3. Fill your glass 2/3 of the way with ice. Pour the limoncello and cranberry juice over the ice. Fill the rest of the glass with prosecco.
  4. Garnish with cranberries and a spring of rosemary or thyme!
