These frozen dumplings are stuffed with cheese and pressed in a waffle maker, creating super crispy, cheesy waffles. These dumpling waffles are the perfect snack or appetizer!

My son loves waffles for breakfast, but I was running out of new flavors to make. I remembered that he loved pan-fried dumplings, so I thought, why not try to cook it in the waffle press? And you know what, it was DELICIOUS!
The outside was crispy and the inside was perfectly cooked. We stuffed cheese in this recipe, but feel free to omit it!
This was a fun new way for us to enjoy dumplings and super easy to make as well. These dumpling waffles would be great for lunch boxes or as a quick breakfast.
What you’ll need:
- Frozen dumplings/potstickers: Any frozen dumplings of choice works! Our favorite brands are Bibigo and Trader Joe’s!
- Cheese: to stuff in between the two dumplings, but completely optional!
- Oil spray: I used avocado oil spray for this recipe.
How to make these Dumpling Waffles:
- Microwave a few frozen dumplings for about 30 seconds, just enough for them to be soft. Using scissors, make a cut vertically down the center of the dumplings.
- Spray oil on both sides of the waffle press. Place 1 dumpling on the waffle press, making sure to slightly flatten the dumpling. Place a layer of cheese on top of the dumpling and add another dumpling on top of the cheese.
- Press down the waffle press and cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden and crispy.
