These garlic sesame noodles have a creamy, savory sauce made with tahini and garlic. It’s a quick and delicious meal that can be made in under 20 minutes!
What is tahini?
Tahini is a smooth paste made from toasted sesame seeds. I like to use it for baking cookies, in my oatmeal, for stuffing dates, or for smoothie bowls!
What you’ll need to make these sesame garlic noodles:
- Chinese wide wheat noodles: I like using these noodles for this because I love how the sauce clings to the curly sides of this noodle shape. If you can’t find these noodles near you, you can use other flat, wide-shaped noodles.
- Garlic: Use fresh garlic if you can, it always tastes better in my opinion!
- Soy sauce: the salty, savory element of this dish.
- Tahini: the main ingredient for the sauce, it’s really nutty and creamy!
- Yondu Vegetable Umami: this is an optional ingredient, but I like to add it to my cooking when I feel like it needs a little boost. It’s an all-purpose umami seasoning made from vegetables.
- Sesame Oil: to elevate the sesame flavor more. Alternatively, you can use any kind of neutral oil so it won’t overpower the sesame flavor from the tahini.
- Honey: to balance out the saltiness, I like to add a bit of sweetness. Feel free to use any other kind of sweetener such as agave or sugar.
- Rice Vinegar: for a bit of zesty acidity!
