Shrimp fried rice is a staple dish at our home, it’s the perfect way to use up vegetable scraps and quickly get a meal on the table. This one-pan shrimp fried rice is easy to make and you only need a few ingredients. It’s savory, loaded with flavor, and better than takeout. You’ll never need to order takeout again!
This recipe is perfect to make for dinner when in a rush or need something easy. The best part is – you can make it in one pan and come together in less than 20 minutes!

What you’ll need to make this shrimp fried rice:
- Neutral oil
- Garlic
- Green onion
- Shrimp
- Oyster sauce
- Soy sauce
- Eggs
- Rice
Other optional ingredients that will taste great in this recipe:
- You can swap out shrimp for chicken, beef or even tofu – it will taste delicious either way!
- Feel free to use any left over vegetable scraps you may have in your fridge such as bean sprouts, carrots, peas, broccoli, cabbage, etc. just to name a few!

How to make this one-pan shrimp fried rice:
Let’s prepare our ingredients
On a cutting board, chop the thicker pale green part of the green onion and set it aside. Slice the darker green leafy part of the green onion to use as a garnish at the end.
Finely mince your garlic. Medium dice your peeled and deveined shrimp.
In a small bowl, crack and beat two eggs until fluffy.
Let’s cook
Heat your oil in a wok or skillet on medium-high heat. Add the chopped pale green portion of the green onion and cook until fragrant.
Add your shrimp and garlic to the wok. Cook until the shrimp turns pink.
Add your oyster sauce, sesame oil, and beaten egg mixture. Stir to combine and cook for 1 minute or until the egg is cooked.
Add your cooked and chilled rice, mix to incorporate all the ingredients.
Using a wooden spoon or spatula, flatten the fried rice so that the underside will get crispy. Let it cook for 5 minutes or until the rice gets golden and crispy.
Turn off your heat and add the remaining sliced green onion (dark green leafy part). Stir to combine.
Sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds on top if you want and enjoy immediately • ᴗ •
